I’m not very electrical smart so I had to really break this down to understand what was happening.
all in all in worked like a charm BUT the camera is dim and sequestered to a 4:3 ratio so wonder if a different camera might be better.
anywho….

That's an excellent drawing! Glad to hear you were successful in building a harness!
I don't think any camera will fill the entire screen of the PA head unit due to the head unit's smalll size. If anyone else has found one that does, I'd love to know what does.
I don't know why your camera is dim. If you're using the same camera I used, all I can suggest is to ensure you removed the protective film from the lens and be sure the lens is clean.
Thank you so much for this. I've never done any kind of electrical work at all and I was totally overwhelmed at having to do the rear camera. I had finally gaslit myself into thinking I wouldn't miss the camera, but this is what finally made the process click for me. I'll be doing the install next week
Now that the modifry harness comes with a wire for the backup camera power, do you still need to tap into the reverse tail lamp? Or can you simply connect the white wire to the camera power and plug it into the DCI?

Tapping the reverse lights is needed to automatically engage the camera when entering reverse.
