I came upon an older model Precision Power (PPI) Pro 8" subwoofer. I have not heard much about this company, but the car audio installer highly recommends this sub. Can someone comment on Precision Power (PPI) make and sound quality?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Very very high quality subwoofer that has top notch sound quality. These are no longer made and are semi rare. You will need a high quality amp to go along with it. Don't expect to get a ton of sound out of a single 8" though, they are not very efficient.

If it's the flat piston one, it's really good. An 8" probably won't cost you more than say $100?

Good choice! I'd get a 10 (or 4 12"s)

thank for the comments!

i wish it would cost only $100, but the dealer wants to sell it to me for $200, which is still a good price compared to some other online prices. though it is no longer made, it used to retail for $350.

as far as it being flat... yes, if i remember correctly. it didn't look like the typical subwoofer. it was made out of something different.

The PPI Pro's are flat cone subs. They used a Carbon fiber / Nomex Honeycomb diaphram, gold plated terminals, cast aluminum basket - all very top notch.

$200 sounds a little steep - but it is a sweet sub.
