Default Problem with new headunit install

Hey guys.. well I had a good friend of mine help me install my new Alpine CDA-9827 and it rocks! The sound quality has improved dramatically over the stock headunit and i'm very pleased with the purchase and help from s2ki!

After playing some music for 2 minutes, we discover that my rear speakers behind my seats are no longer working. We tried the Fader function to see if it was playing any music and it was totally silent. I'm pretty frustrated at this point because I really did not encounter for this to happen. I don't know what the problem is and need help.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? It was working fine with the stock headunit but now its not working with the Alpine. The wiring we did seemed fine but did I miss something??

Its the way the rears were wired. Unfortunately you will have to redo the wiring to make it work. I wish I could explain what to do but I kind of fiddled with it until I got it working.

Oh man... it sounds so complicated! I don't wanna bring it to an audio shop and shell out a fortune as this would seem like such a small problem for them to fix.

Anyone else have any ideas as to why im having this problem?

Run speaker wires from the back of the 9827 and direct connect them to the rear speaker. It's not a big deal. Just will take some time to run wire. Look in your 9827 owners manual and see what colored wires are for the rear on the wiring harness and make sure the left rear goes to the left rear speaker. Do the same for the right and you should be good to go. Also, if you ever decide to amp these you will be able to use the same speaker wire. Just disconnect it from the headunit and connect it to the rear channels of your amp.

Hope this helps.

If I was a bettin man, and I am, so....

68% of my gut tells me you wired them to the wrong wires.
32% tells me the wires fell off. Solder them on, or get good female/male quickconnects.
