Default Question about Alpine HU

I have the Alpine 9830 and I can't seem to get the HU controls for my subwoofer to work. Someone please help me with the wiring. When I bought my S2 it had a JL component system in it and I added the subwoofer, but for some reason I can't get the HU controls working. I just want some more bass, and less bass from my component system. Any responses would help. Thanks.

A couple of things.

1. We need to know the gear you have in the car. (amps, type of sub...etc.)

2. How is it all wired?

I'm going to rip all my equipment out tomorrow and start all over. For some reason I'm not getting any sound out of my speakers now. Just a static sound, but my HU is still showing that i"m getting a signal. My setup is all messed up right now.

Hey dark knight thanks for the "wiring" thread helped out alot. I ended up ripping out the whole component system and HU and started from the beginning. I rewired my Alpine HU to the factory harness wires and then spliced my rear +/- straight off of my HU for the S pods. I then took out the crossovers and tweeters, but kept the door woofers. I then ran a new set of RCA cords back to my amp, and then connected my sub. So as of now I'm running JL fullrange in the doors, Alpine type-S pods, and an Alpine amp with a Boston sub. I lost a little quality due to the subtraction of my tweeters but gained it back in my sub.

The original setup was all sorts of messed up. The so-called "professional installation" went to hell when I got in there and looked at what was done. The crossovers were wired as such:

You should be able to reinstall the cross-overs. Just extend the wires going from the woofer into the crossover and then run new wire to the tweeter and the woofer. Running that woofer in full range really isn't the best idea for it
