No. That might help. There really isn't that much in there, though. To be honest, I am pretty satisfied with the sound. My other car is a hatchback, so it is hard to make a good judgement of what it should sound like.
It does help... Especially when the top is down. Just make sure you remove all of it. Especially up against the vents that port into the cabin. You have to pull out the spare tire and get all back behind that. Just rip it all out. Leave nothing behind! I noticed a good bit of different when the top was down after I ripped out all of the padding because now some sound can come through those vents behind the seats.

So it worked for you? Good. My car had the same problem. Dynamat (actually "BUZZ KILL" I think is the name of the stuff...not Dynamat brand) and ripping the insulation out helped out a lot.

Yeah, my trunk is dynamatted as well. It helped a little bit. They didn't dynamat my entire trunk though... I noticed that when I was ripping out the insulation. They didn't do up under the spare tire.

As long as they did the underside of the convertible decklid....this is the source of most rattling....at least in my car.

Of course they didn't... and it rattles like a mofo. I'm spending a lot of time trying to eliminate some of the rattling there.

Since the convertible tray is one of the areas where there is a lot of sound able to pass through, should you really dynamat this area?

maybe not dynamat....but something like quiet coat might help....not as overkill as dynamat. I would think that it would just channel the bass through the tunnel a bit more. I did not have serious issues with rattling of the actual trunk....just the decklid. I do have my x-over set to 80HTZ, though, which is a bit on the low spectrum....deeper bass, but not as much pounding....good for bass guitar. If I set it up to 120 HTZ, it rattles like a BIATCH! I would TRY pulling some dynamat up there (if you have some extra) and see if it helps. Try to isolate the area the rattling is coming from, and try just covering that section.
