Default Question about Audio COntrol LC6i

I went yesterday to CarToys Audio store and spent a good two hours listening to subs and different speakers. My intention is to keep my HU and add a sub to the S. I have contemplated using the RSX Bose sub due to the ease of just sticking it in the spare but it seems to be complicated regarding wire hook up. During this process the installer mention to me to go with a 8" JL Audio w3 sub and amp. However, since I was planning in keeping the OEM HU that it would be a good idea to add the Audio Control LC6i unit to the stock system, which would help with signal summation and this way the amp signal to sub and door speakerswould be a better signal. In other words it would clean up the present signal and send a cleaner signal to the oem drivers. Also, he said that he wouldn't have to cut into the wire harness behind the radio. It also would allow for sound level matching the system so that none of the components are overpowering each other. What is your opinion about this Audio Control unit? Does this thing really does what the installer was telling me or is it a glorified LOC. Should I just get a basic LOC that has flexibility to adjust channels and output levels? How will this help with the OEM door speakers?

Thanks

Change the radio, its not like some of the newer cars where its a pain. Theres no advantage in keeping it. If for some odd reason if you dont want to, get a Rockford 360.2 or cleansweep for the best sq. Audio control is old school and a glorified line out converter. Or wait for the Volcano ash to clear so JBL/Harmen will start shipping there new signal summing piece. BTW any of these pieces will cost more than a good deck and your oem deck is not amplified and if your not going with high end spks and amps, its not really necessary.

Okay! If I get the JL cleansweep unit this will level out the present Oem HU signal, equalization and improve the sq from the OEM system is this correct? If I assume to be correct, where in the chain is this Cleansweep unit going to be connected? Because if I am not changing door sprks and just adding an 8"sub/ amp to the OEM system, How do I get better sound if the front spk are not amplified? Or is re-wiring necessary for this unit to function correctly. Bottom line I want to add a sub with amp to oem system without doing to much surgery on the wires. Trying to save money on this project.

If your just doing a sub, use a basic lineout or an amp with high level in. Processors and summing devices would be useless.
