Default Question on Installing an amp

Alright sorry for being a noob at this audio stuff but yea, I'm installing an amp on my car and was wondering if i could use a different wattage wire... Ok i have a kenwood amp at 1000watt and couldn't find any wires for 1000 watt, instead all the stores i go to only have below 1200 watt wiring kit and above, so my question is, can i use a 1200watt amp wiring kit for my 1000watt amp? and can it damage my amp?... thanks for the suggestion

^ that is fine
Im running 6 gauge to my 4000 watt amp.
honestly i would ditch the kits and get everything seperate, works better imo
all you need is a rca which you can chose if you want gold plated or steel etc..
i would use 6 or 4 gauge wire for your powerwire
and i have 12 gauge as my remote. then a short 4 gauge for my ground.

You can do that in the electronics subforum. Don't post in the wrong subforum for traffic reasons.

6 gauge is way to small and if you ever upgrade then you need to redo the wiring. Just start with 4 gauge for the power and ground wires for the amp. The wattage ratings on the wiring kits don't really mean anything. The more power you are trying to push the bigger the wire needs to be.

Is this RMS figures or some Max figure? If the latter, ignore that... probably more like 200-300 watts RMS, if so an 8 gauge kit would suffice.
