Default radar detector

what is a good radar detector that won't make me go broke?

i'm about to drive to dallas (6 hours away) and i can't afford to get any more points on my driving record, much less get another ticket in itself...

Driving the speed limit will keep your gas mileage up and your record where it is.

You can't plug in a Radar Detector and be invisible. They are a driving aid to be used by a trained person, not a ticket blocker.

That's my .02

Oh if you really want to buy one that works, and works well. Go with one of the following IMO.

Escort 8500 x50 or 9500i
Beltronics Sti
Valentine 1

Sorry they aren't cheap, but you gotta pay if you want something that actually performs.

The Escort Passport 8500 X50 is a good all around unit, but I'm sure others will be along to suggest other makes/models. Price wise the 8500 is around $300.

My escort 8500 cost me $329 and has saved me at least a dozen times. So is it worth it? if not then dont speed.. They are a good driving aid

valentine 1, or if you're really concerned, then don't speed

*edit* I use to have an escort 8500 x50, and the arrows on the valentine 1 are sooo helpful
