I know this may seem overly simplistic but... I got a Passport Solo. It works just as well as my Passport 8500, and is cordless. That's it! $199 and no cord, no hard wiring. Problem solved.

....er ah, might want to check the specs on those two detectors you say are equivalent Hombre . Contact Cincinatti Microwave, they made them both which are distributed by Escort.

Thanks for all the help. This forum is awesome and the people are wicked helpful. I've watched other roadster forums and none of them compare to this.

I have not received the V1 yet. When I do if I need some more help then I'll bother you for the installation pics.

Thanks again.

I use the passenger side visor and skip the V1 fuse link. Much neater inmho.Just pry off the lens, wrap the hot lead around the end of the bulb, connect the ground on one of the screws and snap the lens back on crimping the wire. No cutting or splicing required.

Yellow s2000,

How did you get into the dome light? Did you drill a hole? Please, don't say you drilled a hole... I really want to wire it the same way, but don't think I'm up to drilling my baby.

No holes were drilled Just pry off the lens, unscrew the screws & the light will come out.. You will see were you can feed the wires up from the back trim.. I then spliced into the blue/white wire for 12V & connected the ground on one of the screws & put the lens cover back on..
