Radar Detectors?

The only place they're illegal right now is VA (and DC), though FL has legislation pending, and yes in VA they have RADAR detector detectors.
Which begs the question, where can one buy a RADAR detector detector dectector?
Probably at the department of redundency department.

I live in Va and was thinking about getting one as I got a reckless driving ticket last year and don't want another.
Obviously, I know that not exceeding the speed limit will keep me from getting a ticket, but.....

Anyone check out the K40 Calibre? Its the only radar blocker that supposedly works. Clean install but Im not sure if its worth the $2k price tag.

"RADAR DETECTORS will prevent me from getting a speeding ticket". No, you driving the speed limit will prevent you from getting a speeding ticket. I think I have defeated about every kind of RADAR detector on the market. They are okay as a tool to help keep you alert (maybe) but they are not very effective as a tool to keep you from getting nailed with the RADAR gun. Nearly every RADAR unit on the market today has a "hold" feature which allows the officer to prevent the RADAR beam from leaving the unit until he/she wants to check the speed of a vehicle. It is very common for the beam to be released, a speed obtained, the speed locked in, and the beam held again all within a matter of a second or two. That is much faster than you can react, brake, and get your car slowed down enough to avoid being stopped. In fact, the majority of detectors cannot even be activated in that short time. So, if the officer is using the unit to its full potential, you'll get nailed every time.
oh btw (for those that dont know - BTW MEANS by the way) i didnt say anyone had to listen to anything
didnt know i was in english class sorrie haha

Well the point is not simply getting away while driving fast here. I can not stress this any more. When you get a radar, you are not invincible and you will not get super powers. In fact you will probably be driving slower than usual and be more cautious.
I have found I am more alert to my environment. Every time it comes on is like a pinch. I personally feel I've been more careful and overall a better driver because of the V1.
If you have doubts, borrown one from a buddy for a week and make up your own mind. I have at least 3 buddies that have given me shit about spending $400 on a plastic box and then wondering how they lived without it for so long.

Not only has my radar spotted cops within 2 miles of my car, it has saved myself, and other s2000s following me TONS of times. Without it, we are sitting ducks.
FYI, 1% of law enforcement radar guns in the US are not radar friendly. Radars are expensive, and cannot be upgraded every year, unlike radars, that change every month.
