But, if the V1 unit is above and to the right of your shoulder, how do you see the display?
Is there a secondary display on the dash that I don't see?

for those interested, if you do a search for "stealth V1" you can see some
interesting installs. Here is one of my favorites.

I actually replied on that thread as the last poster.....

Cool install but as with any install there are positives/negatives! Read and decide as only the owner can decide what works for him

I have the x50 wireless and I like it cause I can move it from car to car easily. Other then that I would have gone v1 and hard wired it in.

It is a very nice install. Aside from the concern you posted I wouldn't personally mount the RD (without CD) or CD in the mirror or along the upper part of the windshield frame unless you want to share your RD with others on the road. As you said though, each person has to make a personal judgment call on the pros/cons to each approach.

If you're top up or driving with a hardtop all the time that might not be as much of a concern.

Where IS the optimum placement of a RD/LD in an S2000 that does NOT require time-consuming and/or expensive modifications (i.e. a place that catches the max radar/laser, is easy for driver to see, is not visible to others, etc.)?

Correct but some methods are better proven than others....

Improper mounting or having wires going everywhere inside a cabin is just not my style

I've seen some pretty stupid and un-safe ways to mount these things over the years and why do that if you can do it properly. I assume this is why most of us on here OWN and drive an s2000 and not some POS Chevy Metro
