Is there a secondary display on the dash that I don't see?

for those interested, if you do a search for "stealth V1" you can see some
interesting installs. Here is one of my favorites.

Cool install but as with any install there are positives/negatives! Read and decide as only the owner can decide what works for him

If you're top up or driving with a hardtop all the time that might not be as much of a concern.

... I wouldn't personally mount the RD (without CD) or CD in the mirror or along the upper part of the windshield frame unless you want to share your RD with others on the road.

Where IS the optimum placement of a RD/LD in an S2000 that does NOT require time-consuming and/or expensive modifications (i.e. a place that catches the max radar/laser, is easy for driver to see, is not visible to others, etc.)?

Improper mounting or having wires going everywhere inside a cabin is just not my style
I've seen some pretty stupid and un-safe ways to mount these things over the years and why do that if you can do it properly. I assume this is why most of us on here OWN and drive an s2000 and not some POS Chevy Metro
