I have a Bel Vector. It's been great. I went on a drive a week ago, and while my detector was going off, a couple of guys who had V1s were not having any alarms. It alerted me three times to cop activity, while the guys in the V1 were left wondering.

I don't know if this is normal behavior for a V1, and I've heard nothing but good things about it. But I'm happy with my Vector for $140.
hmm there must be something wrong with the v1 b.c iv compared almost every single radar on the market. v1 is probably one of the most sensitive radars on the market

How's the V1 false more? You can clearly tell which are cops and which aren't cops.

I have one and love it. I'd rather be aware of all radar, rather then *just* cops. That way I can assimulate the data, and determine the threat. After driving for a bit with the V1, it's easy to tell if it's false or a cop.

X- bands, I ignore.
K- bands, minor blips, I ignore
K- band , heavy blips, heads up, look for the cop, and voila...
Ka-band, heads up, look for the cop...
Laser - slow down!

Beware that lesser made radar detectors will also 'create' false signals among other radar dectectors. I can't explain the science, but that may explain why BD89 had shown cop "activity" while his friend's V1 didn't go off.

Having a numerical count is also tremendous. There's a road near me where two cops will work in unison 1/2 a mile apart. You can tell because the V1 will show 2 Ka signals. Pass one cop and you still know there's another cop ahead. With other detectors, you'll think you passed the Ka source, speed up, and get nailed by cop #2.
Yes sir, been there, and got nailed!!
Really, really sucked balls hard!!

[QUOTE=CFactor,Dec 2 2007, 05:49 PM]The mount on the V1 is also better than the X50.

I have an Escort 9500ci, I installed it and it is hidden, has GPS, Lazer Jammer, I love it. The GPS eliminates all the motion detector alarms. If you drive around a large city at night the false alarms will drive you crasy. It is expensive $1500 but it is so clean, nothing hanging from the windshild. two Lazer Defectors and radar detector in the front, one lazer defector in the rear. It is sensitive enough to pick up radar when it is behind me. The V1 arrows would be nice, but I would rather have the GPS filtering.

Yeah, I was wondering about the mounting issue since the S's cigarette lighter is NOT located on the front dash.

So, are you saying that you power your detectors via a telephone wire between the detector and a power source?

If so, how exactly is this done? (I'm not very good when it comes to rewiring a car.)

Does the V1 come with a long enough power cord to stretch from the front window, down the dash, along the passenger seat, and into the cig. lighter?
No rewiring needed the V1 brings all the necessary wires to just power it from a constant power and not the cigarette lighter it brings wire taps just find a constant power source when the car is on (the S brings an accesory wire for this reason exactly) and just tighten the little wire tap around it and ground it and youre good to go the radar turns on when you turn the car on theres a really good write up with pics and instructions on how to hardwire the radar see here.

http://www.s2000.org/mods/radar/

its easier than it looks I did it by myself to having a clue how any of it works instructions pretty much say it all
And yes the V1 brings pretty long power cords so dont worry about that.
Bought a V1 has saved my butt countless times

No but it does come with a hardwire kit with a long enough cord to run along the windshield frame, down the pillar and to the accessory tap in the fuse panel.

Just be aware, those that are shopping, that the ZR4 shifters included with the 9500ci aren't anywhere near best-in-class.

It's a subjective matter. I drive day and night in a large city with a V1.

Several people on radardetectors.net run both the 9500ci and the V1. I think at least one of them is running LI's to address the ZR4's deficiencies.
