ran into a problem while installing a new HU....
Here's the situation. I was installing a Pioneer HU in a 2007 s2k along with the PAC steering wheel control interface. Before bolting the headunit in, I tested the connections and everything was working perfectly. Speakers sounded considerably better with the new HU. However, I had my friend hold up the headunit while I went to get the side brackets. And for some reason, the music just completely stopped and the HU turned off. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but she accidentally touched the HU with the shifter, which was just the bare metal rod, since we took off the shift knob. I was assuming that somehow shorted a circuit somewhere, and checked the audio fuse under the dash inside, but that was still good. I had no other ideas of what can be wrong, so I attached the OEM HU back in, and now that doesn't get any power either. Everything else in the car works perfectly fine, except for the HU not getting any power. If you guys have any idea of what might be wrong, that would be greatly appreciated. I've been looking around, and been looking at the wiring diagrams trying to make sense of it. Thanks in advance.
i checked and those fuses you listed were for different things like the reverse light and the power mirrors. i'm working with a AP2, 2007 model and was wondering if they have different layouts from AP1. I checked the other fuses under the dash and they seem perfectly fine. I'll use the volt meter to test some of the wires connecting the radio but looking at the way things are now, I'll probably get no readings from it. If anyone else have any suggestions of what I can check, that would be great. Thanks!
sorry, I hadn't realized they changed the fusebox for the AP2.
hopefully someone has an AP2 service manual and can tell
you the correct audio fuses.
it still sounds like a blown fuse - does everything else work,
like your accessory power outlet? Sometimes fuses can be
blown but it's not obvious from looking at them. you probably
know this already, but if you have a multimeter, you can check
them by setting it to ohms and seeing if they have continuity
(should read near zero ohms if good, infinity if bad).
I'd also look to make sure there are no loose wires/pins in
the harness connector.
