Default RCA cable length? Headunit to poweramp in the spare tire.

What length of audio cables do I need if I'm running from the headunit to the spare tire area along the outer passenger side of the interior? Is 4 meters sufficient? 5 meters a better bet?

Coming from the head unit it would be easier to run it under the carpet/console driver's side. Pull the 4 carpet clips up and run it back. Kinda like my rear speakers. You can run your new door speaker wires up on the passenger side from the amp.

Run your power from the battery under the door sill back.

Thanks for the wire routing advice. That sounds shorter and more direct than what I was thinking before. Back to the question of RCA cable length, actually my choices are 3 meters or 5 meters. Can I do it with 3? Anyone?

I bought the 2 meter (6ft) monster cable. Went from the head unit to a PAC line-level converter located directly underneath the head unit. The RCA goes from the PAC line-level converter, straight down the center console, and up into the center of the trunk to the spare tire well. There is just enough slack to pull the spare tire out with the amp in it (see the pic in my sig). If you want to route the RCA down the driver or passenger side, 6ft will not be long enough.

If you're skeptical, route some yarn first, then measure how much yarn you used. Quite a simple solution. Good luck!
