I am picking up a used alphasonik 8" 608 w/ wlaurent rear wheel well box and infinity kappa 60.7cs tonight.

i am getting both used.

now for my question. for an amp, i want at least 400 watts, so after much research i decided that the hifonics zxi 4408 on ebay for $159 shipped would be a good value buy. but, i noticed that the zxi6408 is the same price. Should i just get the 6408 because its more watts for the same price or should i stick with the 4408?

also, i plan on getting the alpine x200 for $160 shipped on ebay. Do i need to buy a separate wiring harness or does one come supplied? it cost $30 shipped on ebay. if i need the harness than maybe crutchefield is my best bet for $199 which includes the harness.

when modifry starts making his DCI's again, i plan on purchasing one. so, another question is, how hard is it to install the DCI if I have already installed the HU in my car?

also on wiring kits, does the brand matter? i see that kits vary in price ranging from 30 to 100 bux on ebay. I cant tell the difference, any recommendations?

are there any other harness', adapters, wires that I will need to buy? i plan on doing the install myself and this is my first system. any suggestions or advice is appreciated. thanks in advance.

 

you can buy an installation kit from Crutchfield that includes the wiring harness and step by step instructions for installing it, even if you don't buy one of their stereos. Usually costs around $15.

But another benefit of buying from Crutchfield is that you'd actually have a warranty on that stereo and you can rest assured the deck you get isn't sloppy 2nds, unlike rolling the dice on Ebay.

i have no idea how to price and source it. so any ballpark figures and where to buy are appreciated!
