Midrange

tweeter

You'll need to use the crossover built into the amp if you have one or get any car audio passive crossover. The higher the crossover between the tweeter and midrange they louder they will play. This combo is roughly 3 times louder than the average car audio component.

Massive Audio CK6

I don't know if they're still 175 shipped through DAT on DIYMA.com

they will blow everything under $200 out of the water
Had Alpine Type-S, C, R and Polk MM6501s before. Nothing can even come close to the CK6s

no point in getting good components without a 2 channel amp
I'm pushing 150w per channel to mine and they BOOM

Not exactly. The setup I put together is about 4db louder per watt. I also trust the components I recommended to handle at least 100w rms/ driver, whereas that CK6 tweeter certainly cannot.

The MA CK6 seems like a any other car audio set. Overrated. Xmax at 8.9mm really? There are only two motors out there that can support that kind of excursion in a 7", XBL and Lambda. I don't think it has any of them. If you were to test this speaker I bet none of the stats would align with the claims. Xmax is probably half of that, sensitivity is at least 2 db lower, and QTS would be at least .8. They boom because they are boomy, there isn't a box in the world that can bring QTS down. It will have low end peaking out of the box. It's not a SQ combo, it's dishonest, and it will be at least twice as low in SPL.

^^^ That's a nice looking setup you have there, but anything that's not totally stealthy it out for me, being that it's a convertible.

It's stealthy imo, all black and matched leather. It's hard to tell anything is different unless you are sitting in it. Besides I drive a yellow car, THAT will overwhelm easily. You drive ...an NFR yeah, not a problem.

I too would add the new M3 to my car collection in the future. I'd probably only use it when I have to carry people and things though.

I have these, they are now on sale for less than what I paid. I like them a lot and they are great for the price.

I've become a fan of Hertz speakers. I'm currently running the HiEnery hsk-165 and love them. I also have a lot of experience installing their Energy line and they sound very impressive for the price. I would recommend the Energy esk-165's for your budget. They're half the price of the HiEnergy and don't need as much power and will play loud and clean. Plus fitment will be a little easier as you will be able to use the stock speaker bracket for these.
