I agree. That's why I would only use it after work. I'll put a safety switch inline to the ignition and leave it off normally, but when I got to work, or park the car for the night (I ALWAYS leaving it in neutral with the ebrake on), I could flip the switch before getting out. That way it will only work when i tell it to as long as I don't forget to hit the switch.

I think the chance of it starting in gear is very rare because only I drive the car.

Can anyone clarify if there is indeed any nice standalone units that don't include an alarm? I don't want to spend too much because I'd mostly be paying for the alarm I think, which I really don't want anyways.

Just a remote start would be great for me as long as it will actually start my car (wait for injectors, crank long enough, etc).

Ideas?
