Removing Baskets lose bass?
I had Memphis 5.25's installed monday and they told me that 6.5's wouldn't fit with the baskets and if they removed them I would lose like 40% of my bass. Is this true and what are you guys experiences with removing the baskets and the difference in sound?
Thanks for any help,
Mrcln1
Please give me input I have to go back to the installer tomorrow and I need to know what to do. I'm not happy with the bass capacity of the 5.25's. I'm not looking for tons of bass just enough to feel it. I had a 01 Z28 before with the Bose Monsoon system in it and thats the type of sound I'm looking for.
Thanks

the basket is not air tight; it has lots of vents.
i put 6.5" speakers in; i cut the back out of the basket.
you could use some baffles if you think he's right. most car doors don't have baskets; I think they will be fine. the speakers in my door produce enough bass.
if you want bass, get a sub. 6.5's in the door won't do it.
