I have used a flat blade screwdriver (with duct tape on the blade)and I gently insert it between the dash and the vents. There are two or three clips there. One at each corner, and I think 1 in the center. Try that.

Have your read the Install guide on Lucid's web site?

The top vent does bend down quite far, and you can give it some stick. I should know i had the h/u out 3 time yesterday

Push-up on the part of the dash that is right above the radio door panel (right below the vents) to give you some room to get a screw driver, fingers, etc. in there. That part of the dash is actually quite spongy.

Good luck,

Someone's guide suggested using a coathanger and making a "J". Poke the short end of the J inside of the trim to exert force from the inside near one of the clips. That worked for me. Otherwise it does feel like the plastic would break first. Kinda like doing a breech delivery and watching the head separate. Ouch!

see www.lucidautomotive.com/guides for a detailed guide on this removal. Use duct tape around the surrounding surfaces to avoid any slips and damage.

Protect your console too! pulling the bottom out is the best approach. You can avoid prying if done correctly. I avoid prying against a soft surface because it can leave an impression in it.

Default Removing Head Unit - Help me!?!

I have followed the FAQ on HU removal, but I'm having a problem.

I pulled gently in the spring-loaded door, and the bottom clips popped fine. The problem I having is getting the top off. It looks as though it is stuck between the top of the radio and the "Top Down" vents. I'm worried about breaking it. It said to stick your fingers behind the edges and pull out the top. I can't bend out the bottom far enough to get my fingers behind.

Please help me.

Thanks,
Don
