I replaced stock speakers with the Pioneers from HandA associates. Does sound somewhat better. Certainly better for $50 and very easy install.

Anybody know what the extra compartment in the tailend of the door is for?

 

I will second that question about the plastic compartment in the door. It's mark "protector".
