I'm using Crystal oversize 6.5" components in the front doors, Pioneer 5500 deck, cd changer, and a US Acoustics 2100 amp.

Any issues with the speaker hitting the grill at full excursion? Your MDF spacer looks like you might be pushing the space limitations. I'm running a 5/8" MDF spacer on a smaller speaker, and it's pretty tight.

The woofers just fit into the door speaker grill. No problems with the cone contacting the panel. I used 3/4 MDF and yeah, it gets quite close at the bottom of the door. I had to cut out some metal on the bottom of the door speaker hole.

Since my S2K had the factory tweeters I wanted to put my aftermarket speakers in the same location. I thought about putting them behind the factory tweeter grills but ended up cutting out the tweeter bezel to fit the larger Crystal tweets.

The tweeters look almost stock. I could paint the tweeter basket silver like the factory ones but think I'll leave it all black for now. I'm very pleased with the sound of these speakers. They are quite bright sounding which is good as my ears aren't very sensitive in the upper frequencies.

I just have to work out the trunk layout and the subs and I'll be all done.
