Default Room for a flip out screen?

Hi I was wondering if there would be enough room for a flip out Dvd player in the s2k. Right now I have an alpine screen in my current car but i'm getting an s2k and i would like to know if i need to sell it or not. Can someone do me a big favor? Measure the distance from the face of the deck to point where it clears the dash? cuz my screen is able to slide forward and i would like to know if it slides forward enough to fit. Hopefully this makes sense.. Thanks for the help guys.

Nope, the dash overhang from the radio. When the screen flips up it will get caught by the overhang.

What do u mean by dash overhang?

I've taken some pics of it.

This is the normal position its in:

And this is with it forward more:

As you can see when it moves out maybe theres enough room to clear the dash.

I do realize that the deck sits a bit back into the dash.. but i was just wondering how far the screen had to be forward to fit in.. kinda hard to explain.. Guess i'll wait till i get my s2k.. thanks for the help anyways guys

The thing is, with the s2k HU location, it sits right in front of the shifter. that's the other reason why it doesn't work. Many people have tried to make this work but I have yet to see it happen. That's not to say you couldn't have something custom made and rework the dash, but just to plug and play like your RSX with the flip out screen.... will not happen unfortunatly.

Nice car BTW and screen set up. I take it by your questions you want to remove that unit from the RSX and install it into your S?

Thanks. Yead i'd like to put it into my s2k. Everytime i go to a drivethrough i get a lot of comments on it. Plus my little bro likes to watch Lord of the Rings on it.

Hopefully i can make it fit. I think its goin to require some custom fiberglassing. Wish me luck!

There is not much clearance between the shift and the head unit spot. Personally I think it would inhibit shifting a little.
Marcus has an awesome screen setup in the factory headunit location on a motorized screen...I am sure he will chime in here
