Default RSX sub install without spare tire?

Hey guys, i got my RSX sub finally... i'm ready to install, but I have one issue. I've removed the spare tire already, and my amp sits there now. I have a BBK, no I will NOT be reinstalling the spare. Has anyone here ever mounted one OUTSIDE the spare? I was thinking about somehow mounting it on the other side of the spare well, on the left side (said 'super secret compartment'). Whaddaya think?

Not sure if you have enough space on the drivers side for it... maybe the amp would fit. Always nervous about that side of the car, gas filler nozzle and all. You should be able to Bolt the RSX sub to the extra hole where the spare tire was, if you have the RSX bolt.

Crap, I just realized from your post that upgrading my wheels would cause an issue with the spare tire. Crap. I don't travel without a spare. Crap.

Did you take the TOP off the sub? That top blocks tons of sound.

Hey, does anyone have a picture of where the gains dial is on the RSX sub amp?

i did take off the top, but have yet to install it. The cover goes on with only 6 screws, so it's not an issue. My main concern is a good mount spot if anyone has one. If not, i'll post my results when i install this weekend.

take the silver cover off the amp; it comes right off. there is a little thing that looks like a phlips head screw on the board (it's colored, yellow i think). It's the only thing like it on the board and easy to see. There isn't a whole lot of gain control actually.

Thanks Steven975!

yeah, I didn't expect much from that wee amp, but I thought someone said it could be tuned up. I'll give it a shot thanks to your help.
