Default Running Sirius XM antenna wire for aftermarket receiver

I am installing an after market car stereo. The receiver supports xm. The xm antenna wire needs to be run from the xm converter box located in the dashboard to the xm antenna. I presume the best location for the antenna is on the trunk lid near the convertible top. What is the best route to get the wire into the trunk from the interior of the car. Examples might be through the center console or perhaps it is better to follow near the door frame of the passenger side.

I am aware that S2000 has a factory xm converter box and contains factory wiring for xm. I am assuming this existing wiring cannot be exploited.

Also Honda's directions show the antenna location being the center of the trunk. Will being nearer to the convertible top (at the edge of the trunk) cause reception interference?

I have mine on my dash near the windshield, inside of the car. Works perfectly fine.

Thanks for the suggestion. How did you hide the wiring.

Looked through the Honda service manual but no luck there. The manual shows how to remove the side panel on the drivers side (at or immediately behind the seat) but not the passenger side. The design is not symmetric on both sides of the car. On the drivers side there is a pop off thing to get access to a screw but there is no such thing on the passenger side. I suspect the convertible motor is located near the area. I tried removing the passenger side but was uncomfortable giving it any more force since I didn't have the design diagram. I did trace the antenna wiring in the trunk and it looks like it comes through there. Service manual then shows antenna wiring going down then over to center console. But for my purposes all I need is to get it through and then I can run it just under the trim pieces.

So that is my question - how to take off the panel on passenger side.

mines on the windshield surround on the passenger side.

all of the panels behind the seats are removable. the largest, center section is held by push pins. the "top" of piece above that is held by another style of pins. you pull down to release it. the sides of the center panel are pretty easy to remove. you can get the annetenna to the truck by removing the hooks behind the seat. pop the cover on the hooks and with a 10mm or phillips head screw driver, remove the two screws and pop off the trim panel.

It was a long time ago, but I know I found it extremely easy to run wires under the door sills and up into
the trunk, so I suspect I only removed the door sills and vent panels behind the seats. There are a lot of
threads out there - google site:s2ki.com is your friend.
Here's a relevant thread.
You may also find the exploded diagrams in this online parts catalog helpful.
In later cars that were prewired for the accessory CD changer it may be possible to re-purpose the wires if
you can find suitable adapter harnesses. It's possible something like this could be cannibalized to connect
to the two ends of the factory wiring.
