Default Sirius Radio Install

Where can I run the antenna wire and connect the power wire?

I'm planning on just using the suction cup and put it near the top of the windshield close to the rear view mirror on the passenger side. Where is there a near by power source in that area I can tap the power cord from the Sirius? Also, how do I run the wire if I were to attach the antenna near the trunk area?

I've never done something like this before so any help would be great. Luckily I know how to connect wires so that's a positive, but I don't know where to look for a decent power source and how to get the antenna wire from the trunk through and up the windshield frame.

Use a fuse tap at the fuse box instead of cutting anything. You can ground it on the bolt that secures the fuse box to the car.

You may not get great reception with the antenna inside the windshield. That workls great for GPS since there are several sats in view at most times. Sirius runs three sats if I remember correctly opposed to XM's 2, but they are all very line of sight dependant. I put mine on the piece just forward of the trunk. I may run it to the stip of metal just above the windshield soon just to clean up the look of that area. I think the little bump wil blend in better above the windshield.

Thats what I meant, I couldn't explain it right haha! How did you run the wire through to the windsheild frame from the strip of metal in front of the trunk?

I ran my wire under the trunk lid rubber gasket thingy. I am talking about the rubber gasket that keeps water out of the trunk from the lid. Then, I just put the antenna right there on the car so there is barely any wire showing.

My XM unit is in the trunk, so I didn't have to run the wire too far. If I had to get it to the front, I would just go through the spare tire area under the soft top, our behind the seats , and along the tunnel right to the radio area. If I can remember, I will take a pic of my antenna today.

I have my XM antenna on the backside of my rearview mirror - works perfectly fine.

I also ran it concealed in the windshield frame - worked fine for topless/soft top use, but got interference when my hardtop was on.

I am going to place my GPS reciver that way, S2000GT. I have found that when the XM antenna does not have a good sight of the south western sky (I am in the NE), I lose signal. With the antenna on the trunk, I have yet to lose it, but I'de rather have the look of no antenna at all.
