Default Running Wires through the Vent

I recently purchased an Alpine CDA-9855, and have the Ai-Net to RCA adapter, which I would like to use to connect to a MyFi. I am planning on using the vent mount kit that came with the MyFi to mount it on the driver's vent on the right hand side.

I would like to keep the audio cable hidden and wondered if it is possible to run that wire from the HU into and through that vent (without cutting anything)?

So you want to feed the entire wire up and through the vent tube? How do you plan on getting the wire into the tube without cutting anything. You can do what your discribing but you'll need to make a hole somewhere to feed the wire into the duct.

It'll be easy to put a small hole in the vent tubing and easy to patch (since you can't see it) if you ever decide to uninstall. If that's how you want it, I say just do it.

personally, I would be kind of concerned about condensation forming on the unit.....water + electronics = BAD.

Thanks for the responses. As much as I want to hide the wires to the MyFi, I decided against cutting into anything.

I wound up just running them in site as neatly as I could.
