Here is my install...

10" Xtant, JL Monoblock Class D Amp, Alpine V12 4 Channel, Pioneer 9450 Head Unit, PHD 6" Splits. The hexaganol holes beside the JL Amps are covered with mesh and are channels for the bass to travel into the cabin = more bass! as well as give me hand access to my amps and fully adjustable D2 rear suspension. Oh and the pentagon underneath the sub is a cover for the port i.e. the sub enclosure is not a sealed one = better ability to tune the sub for SQ.

Blue neons inside the JL amp enclosure illuminates the whole boot from behind the perspex.

I have to say it is damn loud. I had to use a truckload of dynamat, dynaxorb and tac mat to stop rattling all over the car and the boot, as well as the bootlid which is all carpeted black. Oh and the whole of the carpet inside the boot is also re-carpeted black to match. Have many more pics but dont want to be accused of a post whore.

can you show some more on how this is ported? while not impossible, it is rare to hear someone say they are tuning a port for SQ...

Thanks PJK3.

Well I did not do it myself but have been told that by positioning the port hole and varying the length u are able to get a different sound out of the sub. i do not know how true that is but since having built a couple of enclosures myself for my previous car i found a ported enclosure gave a much deeper fuller bass while sealed enclosures gave a much tighter cleaner hit.

Being a 10" which is already has very tight bass due to its small size and the small enclosure we could fit in the boot, a ported box was recommended. I cant actually take any pics of the whole port cos its fixed nice and snug but have provided the following diagram to demonstrate how it looks like underneath:

When i get back ill try to take more pics of the port opening and the amp rack.

Stay tuned.
