Default scangauge II problem

Hey guys,

I bought a scangauge II a couple weeks ago and everything is working great but the mph reading.
Only problem I am having with my scanguage is the mph gauge tops out at 42mph !! I have tried changing and calibrating everything I could, but it still reads tops at 42 mph. It is correct all the way up until I get to 42 mph (reads the same as my speedometer) then just stays at 42.

My speedo reads correct speed, so I don't understand this. Anyone have any ideas?

Mine will show far higher than the 42 you are seeing. I agree if it is new contact the company to see if they can tell you how to fix it, or send it back.

I finally got ahold of someone in customer service and they are shipping me out a new replacement. They were very nice and helpful. Hopefully that will fix the problem.

I received my new Scangauge today, but it does the same thing. It must be a false reading coming from the OBD2 plug. How do you fix that??

how fast do you have the refreshing set for?

I read somewhere that it tends to get more errors when it is trying to update too fast.

It was set to fast, but I changed it to normal. Slow is just too damn slow! Everything worked for me on fast, but I changed it to normal to try to fix this. It's really weird. It reads spot on, same as my speedo, until 42 than stops. Can't be a scanguage problem, because I have tried two different ones.

That's wacky. I have one that I swap between my truck and my S and have never had the problem you describe.
