Default Searching for an amp

Hey I have Alpine Type R components and a 12 inch Image dynamic ID-MAX subwoofer. I am looking for a 4 channel amp that is strong enough for both of these and also small so i can put it where my spare tire is at without taking out the spare. So i want something small so i can put it inside the spare tire. Looking for something around 100 watt rms each channel. please let me know what you recommend. thanks

Well, that IDMax is going to need more than what a 'small' 4 channel can throw at it. I recommend a small 2 channel A/B amp and a good mono D amp for the sub.

Seriously, this amp would probably do the trick if you wanted a single amp:

Your IDMax will still be woefully underpowered, but...this amp would leave you lots of options for future upgrades - active instead of passive crossover system, rear speakers (if that's your thing), etc. - should you decide to put in a class D mono amp pushing 500W+ for the sub.

Perhaps an Alpine PDX 4.100 or 4.150? These are relatively compact, but not sure they'll fit inside the spare tire.

Well, it depends on the quality of the amp you want. If you're looking for high quality, go with the Audison. For the $300 it's listed at on Ebay, can't beat it with the Alpines...

The ebay link doesn't appear to be functioning properly. Which model is it?

Wouldn't an Audison be large and not fit inside the spare tire?

Fair enough. Problem is, you're not going to find a quality amp that will fit inside the spare tire... Spare tire area, sure. But not spare tire itself...
