SH99 and hard-wired power?
Have any SH99 owners out there direct wired the 12v power from the battery? I have mine running off of the harness power right now, but was wondering if the 200w amp in it wouldn't be better off with a better source of juice...
I tend to doubt the JVC needs bigger wires... but, I never tried it. Instead I installed some amps, and yes, they are run of direct connections to the battery.
I really thing the amp is the best way to go. The JVC gets wicked hot when you use the internal amp, I'm sure that will cause failures and such in the long run.
With the amp, I just drove 12 hours, stops only for gas and never had it over heat. I even drove through the desert 100+ degrees for 4 hours of that and no problems at all. My old sony HU would start cutting out after 7 hours on cold days!
