simple blue tooth options....no head or radio swapping needed
Howdy all!,
So my 05 s2k has what appears to be the OEM radio....no aux input jack, not xm ready or any of that new techy stuff....and I am looking into a simple plug and play option for going hands free in the vehicle....here's what I cam across and wondering if you'd like to share some other options....again, keeping this simple and clean....let me know your thoughts and suggestions if you have any, or have tried anything like this....thanks....it's called the Scosche BTFM handsfree car kit....with fm transmitter....

The vast majority have went the route of replacing the radio with either a capable sattelite receiver, or just bluetooth, and stream your favorite music from your phone.
I have the latter, since I have a lifetime subscription to the SiriusXM app (an early adopter), but I am looking to upgrade the Alpine radio I have and add a SiriusXM receiver to keep my data plan down (not that the app eats up the data plan - it's very lightweight in that department) and provide radio recepetion in more less conscipious location (Tail of the Dragon, for one).
If you go down the route of replacing the radio, Do Not Forget to get the Modifry adapter forthe model of radio you do buy, so that your dash controls will contiute to work.

GROM Audio - https://gromaudio.com/store/usb_adap...interface.html
S2000 Radio Channel button is like hitting 'next track'. Obviously, Volume and Mute buttons also work.
- Bluetooth
- USB Drive (with Random 'next track')
- Aux 3.5mm
- Song Title text displayed
- Plug/Play install. (I installed mine under the stock radio inside the dash. Had to remove the GROM circuit board out of their enclosure though)

2) After this is installed, how would I listen to CDs (not that I would lol) or the traditional AM/FM radio? Am I stuck with having to use just whatever functionality this GROM unit offers (BT/aux/USB/etc), or can I switch back and forth between the functions of the GROM unit and the stock head unit (CD, AM/FM)?
3) When using a USB stick to play MP3s, will the song info show on the stock head unit? If not, how would you effectively navigate your library or know what song is playing? Not much of a problem with bluetooth, since you can just look at your phone's screen.
Thanks!
