A simpler Pinky's Mod thread (hopefully)
I've put in a gabillion stereos, from head units all the way up to full systems with amps and farad caps, but this thing puzzles me to death. Just some simple questions:
In order to buy a deck from Pinky,
- I need a deck with a remote AND a mute button?
- I can only do 4 of the options on the remote? for example -- 1.volume up, 2.volume down, 3.advance track ahead and 4.mute?
The PAC thing has to be visible to the head units remote? and am I even using the head units remote? I've tried to research this but I'm either making more complicated than it has to be, or my brain is mush... please help. Thanks!!

if you've installed amps and everything else just buy the PAC SWI-3 unit and do it yourself. It'll save ya.
Whichever radio you choose to use, you need one that has a IR remote. the PAC unit stays in the radio bay but a small IR eye on a wire is pulled slightly out to send signals to the radio. To program it you press a button on the PAC unit, then you press your dash button, then you take your wireless remote to the side of the unit and press the function of which you want it to be.
You're basically connecting power, ground, and signal (green) wire. You don't need the mute.
