Some pictures of the new system...work in progress ;)
well, i'm not doing it just yet as i just don't have the time... but my plan/project is to try and fab a good speaker grill for the e8a. it's excursion makes just about any normal 8" grill a laughable matter... so, i had hoped to form a grill from plexi.
my desire was to prep and fab a length of plexi ~14" x ~6" then bore or slot it in several places in the center zone. i then hoped to heat mould it to a continous 'bridge' over the sub. i was thinking of having about 1" on either side w/ a curved rise of about 1.5", then the flat section over the sub. (i hope this description makes sense... )
but addressing the edges and general appearance of the plexi was of a concern...
after doing this -- i had a couple other minor projects in mind that i wanted to try, but i figure this would be a nice start and a good learning project. personally, i love working w/ plexi as even when unlit, it really can highlight a system, and i have done it as much as i felt confident w/ in the past... but this tutorial gives me some ideas for future uses...
and yes, i might need a bit of help when i start this...

Well if you ignore the trial time checking out a few different ideas and playing with a few different designs I would say a total of maybe 100 hours or so between the 3 of us working at different times and what not. If you include the design time and the hunting down supplies and what not maybe closer to 225 hours. We started the new design last fall. My brother and I tend to change things up a little as we go along so we could have done it faster but we've added a few thing along the way.
The rear section we're doing now is almost done just need to wrap it....

Thanks Bill
I'll post picture next week after I get the last few sections wrapped and ready for paint. Then I go on vacation and I'll comeback and have the parts all painted or maybe I'll just paint them myself and save the $200 bucks...
I think you guys will like it
