Has anyone ever hooked up a blackberry via usb cable to get Pandora to the HU? I have a BB now thru work, and wondering how to connect it to the system..
Also, will streaming Pandora via BT from my phone to the HU "double tax" me on data usage? That is, will my carrier count bandwidth usage for streaming from Pandora's servers to my phone and count it again from my phone to the HU?
What about BT music streaming with the top down? I know BT call quality is hindered significantly, but what about A2DP (BT audio) quality?
@kenta: Why would you have still gone with the Alpine unit, even though you were able to adjust the buttons' brightness? Were you concerned with the Sony unit's sound fidelity or some other reason? Nice video, by the way.

Other than that it's the quirky nature of it. The thing that annoys me on a daily basis is that it doesn't show the Artist + Track and the Clock at the same time. (This might be a DSX-S100 thing) Also, in retrospect while "Tune-Tray" is neat but I NEVER take the iPod I have in there out of the car except for when I need to put new music on the device. So basically going with an Alpine unit with a USB cable would have been just as good (for me). No gripes about the sound quality. I am running it in my Element with a ported box with two 10's. The basic controls for low-pass filters and stuff seem to do just fine.
i really enjoy my dsx s200....and as mentioned, it is only $50 different to have the ability for better sound from just a HU. get the modifry DCI as well! it is kind of expensive, but it is needed to maintain controls on the side of the wheel
as for the post above, this is true, not all for the DSX s200, but yea, i kind of just leave my usb in the tune tray. it works well, as he stated, it stays in until he needs to add songs. with a usb, you can do that with great memory. and my clock, artist/song show.

Okay guys, so I bought the Sony DSX-S300BTX just now. I'm about to pick up the Modifry Wired DCI, but reading through this thread again it really bums me out that I can't use radio presets! Is there really no way to fix that? Perhaps a wire to be spliced or something? I'd hate to lose that functionality, as I listen to my radio presets almost exclusively right now.
just cause there are no preset buttons doesn't mean there aren't presets...you should still be able to toggle through them with the radio control buttons next to the starter button once you have the modifry dci installed
Well, this is the what I was referring to when I mentioned the issue with the preset buttons (from the first page):
...
The controls are slightly wacky, you can tell this thing was designed primarily to enterface with usb/ipod, everything else is secondary.
There are no buttons for presets but radio reception is surprisingly better than the factory headunit.
[B]Since the controls are slightly wacky, the sony modifry dci also does some funny things.

i have the DSX-S200 and there are presets...it has like 3 FM 'rows' (for lack of a better word) that have like 6 (maybe 5 im not 100% right now) stations they can hold...my only complaint in that i think there are too many preset stations.
