I really want to thank Mac for the instructions on the speaker replacements- just finished it in under an hour. Installed the Sony 21's and they are a vast improvement over stock. This job intimidated me for some reason, but with those boss instructions, it was a piece of cake!!! If you're considering this- DO NOT DELAY!! Inexpensive but great speakers, use Mac's instructions and you're done and jammin'!

 

I'm glad you found them helpful. Of course, I have to give credit where it's due...my instructions are based, at least in part, on the pioneering work of some early S2000 owners. I just expanded the instructions significantly and added some useful photos.

I keep promising to update my install pages with my air horns, bass shakers, and other such items, but I always seem to find other things pulling me away (particularly my job and my research). I will eventually get to the updates, but for now the pics are still in the camera, and the words still in my brain.

 

Thanks again. I put in Hella horns and love them. They're red and you can see them in the grill- look cool. Would like to see your bass adds though.

 

I was thinking of doing this too but does the 1621's have less bass than the stock ones? I heard that the head unit is unable to drive anything but paper thin speakers.
