Default Sound upgrade help?

Hey guys,

So i just installed a new HKS hi power dual exhaust and now i can't really hear my music. I have the stock speakers on my 05 s2k and man its about time to upgrade. I was looking at changing out the speakers and maybe tweeters as well as installing a sub in the trunk. What do you guys reccomend for speakers and type of hook up for the trunk.

Also, what speakers will fit in the doors and if you recommend cutting and all that jazz.

I was looking at the single sub that goes in the middle of the trunk where the tools are or the subs that are put on either side of the trunk.

Recommendations or good experiences would be greatly appreciated!! Share your set up if you've already done it all!

many things will fit in the door if you cut up the plastic baskets. the baskets are cheap enough if you really need to go back to stock there.

I run Alpine Type Rs I got about 6 years ago up front.

JBL 10" in the tool well.

Alpine V-Power feeding the fronts with 50W each and the sub with 150W.

I think im going to go with type Rs as well for the front but a sub in the tool well is to much of a sacrifice on trunk space for me.. Im thinking of getting the sub placed on the side.

Thanks for the input btw.

The alpine Type-R's will require an amp - they are power hungry like Sarah Palin...LOL. Make sure you pick speakers based on the fact if you will be running an amp to them or just off the headunit.

i like the infinity components. the perfects are 100w each in the doors. get a nice 4-channel amp and just bridge 2 channels back to the sub.

I ran my Type R's for years without an amp...they sounded pretty good.

Once I attached an amp to them, they really woke up, though

any speakers will sound better with an external amp. I prefer diamond audio's or focals over anything else at this point. MB quarts are decent as well
