Default Speaker Upgrade

I'm doing my best to revert my s2000 entirely back to stock (except for upgrading their terrible audio system) and I do not want to have any cutting involved or have any sort of custom covers on the door speakers - just my personal preference.

I have already upgraded my stock head unit to a Sony DSX-S300BTX last year and that made a massive difference. Now I want to dump the OEM speakers for something better and want to have as little distortion as possible without installing an amp.

The other option I'm considering is maybe adding a small amp that would fit under the passenger seat. I'm not super great at car wiring and thought that this may be a bit more complicated for a DIY guy like me - just throwing that out there.

I read through some previous threads and someone mentioned that Kicker 11DS62 are a direct fit with no cutting involved and can still use the OEM door panel - is this true? I was going to buy a new set on eBay but wanted to confirm that they are indeed a direct fit. Also I was wondering if I'll need to purchase any mounts to get it to fit correctly (not sure how much "direct fit" really covers).

Thanks in advance!

There are prior threads asking for speaker recommendations without an amp. IIRC you're basically looking for high efficiency speakers. The prior threads will have suggestions that you should look into.

Not sure about those speakers, perhaps a search with model number in the search bar?

As for keeping the door panels uncut, there are plenty of speaker options available for that. Just get the right size (6"-6.5" should work). You can also look into the Alpine KTP which is an inline mini class D amp that is simply wired into your HU to give you a little boost.
