Here is the story:

Replaced my stock speakers with Infinity Kappa 62.1i

 

Were you playing a CD loudly? If so, tell those morons to look at TSB 00-057. This issue was suposed to be fixed with the 2001s, so I'm assuming you have a 2000 model. It's a frustrating problem, and I dealt with it for several months before I finally couldn't take it anymore. After some time at high volume, the internal amp heats up and the protection circuit kicks in, shutting off the amp...everything appears to be fine, but no sound. It usually starts with one speaker, but shortly thereafter both speakers cut out. Print this out and take it with you to the dealer when you pick up your car. If they refuse to look up the TSB and apologize for their nasty/idiotic behavior, call Honda corporate (number's in the manual). Tell them next time to act like true professionals and diagnose the problem for a change...
