Default Stock speaker performance

I use to be big into car audio when I was in highschool and had my Cadillac Seville with 2 15 inch L7 kickers and an amp for each speaker. Lets just say my system cost more then the caddy. Please don't say you should get aftermarket speakers because I'm more concern with what's under the hood now of days rather then how loud I can blast my music. I've heard our stock speakers are actually pretty DECENT. I read somewhere on here that the stock head unit barely pushes these speakers. So what's you're thoughts on these speakers?

I don't blast my music, but the stock HU and speakers are both lacking. I changed my HU first and then the speakers. Changing to an Alpine HU didn't help much. Given the cabin noise of the car, it's still much worse than my old DD.

Doesn't really matter what we think. Sound is always highly subjective. What you think is what matters. If you have to ask then is it really a problem?

I replaced my 06 head unit with a Kenwood and the same day blew my passenger speaker. Didn't even blast the radio at all. Now im looking at new speakers too. Heard Rockford Fosgate makes a, great component set.

My opinion as I came from 8 years back in the day working at a stereo shop and being the first one to get our dash controls working.

You are right the radio is the first thing that should go. More power to the speakers really helps liven them up. More so than replacing the speakers.

Upgrade process:
1. Head Unit
2. Speakers
3. Add 10" Sub and amp.
4. Add components and amp to run those.
this is where most normal people stop.............then there is ME.
5. Add RCA Cross over power w/out inline cross overs and run 4 way amp to tweeters.
6. Upgrade to a 12" sub.
7. Add Pro Bass Shakers(Mount to metal of your seat and enjoy the rife)
7A. Run TRI-MODE Sub gets mono and shakers get stereo.
