sub / boot well specs

Folks,
Few questions for audio folks.
1. does anyone know what the sealed volume of the boot well is? Assume sub is mounted flush with floor level.
2. is it imperative to fibreglass the well or will some sound deadener applied direct to the steel be sufficient (with top mdf board sealing the well)?
trying to make som decisions on impedning fit out.
appreciate any advice.
