MajorHavoc, I just noticed that you're in SoCal. Who did your install for that sub? I'm really starting to like this idea... If, for some reason, you wanted to take it out and return the car to "stock", would that hole be pretty easy to camoflague? I'm assuming since it's under the carpet, it's just hidden!? Do you know the dimensions of the hole itself?

I haven't decided what I want to do about a sub yet, I was thinking a 10" Eclipse Alum or Tita, but more recently I've been thinking about going ported.

Removal would be easy. I would use the flat metal grill under the carpet to cover the hole!
And, sorry, I didn't measure or even take a picture of the hole!! Doh!!!

The place that installed it is Wired For Sound in Orange County.

I wonder if you could do a single 8" in the passenger side footwell without sacrificing much leg room and not cutting the car?

There are some 10" subs that don't need very much mounting depth...CDT MS-100, IDQ's, Blaupunkt...Even the e10k isn't so bad...

Here are the pictures from the 10" Carbon Fiber Sub's in my floor. The mounting depth of the subs is 2.9". This is absolutely the way to go if you can get a sub this shallow. Also I have phenominal bass (Bass that would prolly beat rival most of the higher ends systems on this site) even when I have the subs turned off. This was done by enclosing 2 sets of 6" speakers in the kick panels. By havin the speakers enclosed they sound like there are 10" subs in the kicks and play mid bass that makes your heart stop. You don't necessarily need a huge sub to create bass...it's all in the enclosure and sub design. For more info on my setup goto here.

I used to have an 8" sub in the floor of my Chevy S10, and it was pretty impressive for a single 8, so I know it's a 'sound' installation option.

modifry, see Cyber Logic's post, the subs hang under the car with the same clearance as the exhaust. Crazy set up. that is the one I was talking about earlier, the seats are fully active..

the square subs from kicker are for tight areas and do not need as much space to work. solobaricks I think.
