sc_highlander, there is a member "logic" that has cut two 10" holes under his seats and welded metal sub housings there no problem. I can't find the pics but they are in this site.

Modifry,

FYI, the reason the speaker is off-set sightly is due to the beam that runs front to back at about the middle of this area! (beam can't be cut) The installer even stated that a 12" would fit!!!
Also, the metal that was cut is not the bottom of the car!!
There is another layer of metal that is the underside of the car that was not touched.
The area behind the speaker has been sealed! Thus, no road noise and enhanced bass sound!

modify - you might want to look at either (a) image dynamics - they require a very small box OR (b) you could go with free air subs, ex. Kicker Competition Free Air and just go with a baffle.

I haven't decided what I want to do about a sub yet, I was thinking a 10" Eclipse Alum or Tita, but more recently I've been thinking about going ported. I have 2 12"s sealed in the subaru which is great for a hatchback, but ported is definitely the way to go if you have a trunk and in a convertible ported or bandpass would sound best (and more so if you want a head turning system), plus they are more efficient and therefore require less power which means you can get away with a one amp system.

Has anyone seen this?

I'm not sure I understand where he's porting it to since the top would get in the way when down (right?) and I can't believe that port is the optimal length and width...
