Default Is there a TRUE V1 stealth install?

I've done LOTS of research on stealth-mounting the V1, but it seems that there hasn't been one yet that has been found to work as well as if it were in a normal location. Did I miss an install that has been a proven winner? Please pass on any info you might have on this. Thanks!

I thought about that one two PJK3, but there is no way in the world I'd ever pay $1000 to have a detector installed!! I hope there is a cheaper way!!

Y'know, I just don't want the thing sticking out where cops and other people could see it.

I still think Rick has the best install. I dont know where to find pics but he had his visors removed and V1 custom molded in a pod on one side and GPS system molded on the other. It was extremly clean. Looked like it came from the factory like that.

Anyone do a Passport stealth install?

My install is the same as the one linked to by pjk3. Same installer. My install is still running fine. It works about 99% as well as stock. We went on a 600 mile drive. Mine hadn't been installed yet, and gomason's was. We both got the same signals at the same time. The trick is the custom housing over the secret compartment.

The actuall installer for this setup is long gone, he was crooked as w1ngman can attest to. BUT... i've figured out how to do most of the install via reverse engineering. And have been considering producing the trim piece over the secret compartment.

PM me if u want any further info...

Ask Rick Heisel for pics. He recently completed his custom install! Very clean!
