For Those With Pivot Pro Ssl Shift Lamp
I've had this shift lamp for a while now but have been questioning how accurate/consistent it will be having it wired up to the cig. lighter. I have been playing around with it using the cig. adapter and have found that when I set up each of the 3 shift points they don't seem to flash at the exact same rpm each time. I even hit the rev limiter once because the last light didn't come on when it was supposed to.
My question is that if I cut off the cig. adapter from the shift lamp and wire the wires directly to the power wires going to the cig. outlet will the shift lamp be more accurate?
The shift lamp also comes with a wire that you can run directly to the tach signal wire that comes off the ecu. This I'm sure would work great, but I don't really want to be splicing into my wiring harness. Has anyone else had any experience with using the tach signal wire and or had any good luck with a certain method of wiring this lamp up.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
