Default Took the plunge and cut!

Well, after considering doing this for a while now, I finally took the plunge and had a 1-DIN slot cut in the dash to accommodate my CVA-1003. Many thanks to Perry and the folks at Mastergrade for helping out in accomplishing this.

I'll see if I can take some daytime pics tomorrow, but here are a few quick shots I took in the garage. CVA-1003 in the dash, Panasonic DVD player in the factory slot.

That looks nice! Any closer pics? What did you use to hold the HU up? How is it mounted in there?

Sorry for the poor quality of pics - I'm in a rush to get out to Newport Beach this afternoon for my best friend's wedding rehearsal and wedding tomorrow, so I snapped these to meet your requests in a timely fashion.

The HU is held up pretty much by a slot cut into the HVAC tube leading to the passenger vent. As a standard 1-DIN radio is pretty deep, that was the only way this could be done. When the hole was cut and the radio slid in to test fit, it was sticking out by a cool 2 inches, so some creative trimming was in order. As of right now, the tube is sealed up with some heat-resistant tape, but I'm I'm in the process of thinking of a more stable solution.
