Default Trunk won't open

Hey guys, i need your help.

I have just finished installing a clifford matrix 3.5rx on my s2000, and well, as the title says, the trunk will not open.

I installed a relay, to convert the (-) signal into (+) like it was said in the instruction manual.

Because we need a positive signal i did the following:

87 - (+) 12 v since (+) switched
87 A - EMPTY
85 - Connected to Red-white wire of the alarm
86 - connected to (+) 12 V constant fused
30 - connected to black-yellow wire in the keyless entry module.

So basically, when i press the button to open the trunk, nothing happens. I can still open the trunk using the switch in the glove box.... but with my remote... nothing.

Did i do something wrong?

I am a little confused because when i read about the wires in the honda s2000 book, it said that i should test for continuity under all conditions when it came to the black-yellow wire. This being said, i believe that this means that it should always be grounded. If this is true then sending a positive signal should activate the motor and open the trunk... but at last, it doesn't.

Can anybody help me?

here is how i do my relays for the trunk switch in s2000's

87 - to trunk release wire
87 A - EMPTY
85 - to 2nd accessory wire on alarm (red/white)
86 - to 12v constant
30 - to 12v constant

also are you holding down the trunk button on the remote for 1.5 seconds to release the trunk?

hey, i tried what you said, i held the button for 1.5 seconds and all i hear is a click. The trunk doesn't pop... i just get a click from the relay.

I did it your way, and i did it my way and in both cases, same thing.

I connected the 'trunk release wire' to the black & yellow wire that is in the keyless entry module.

Its funny because my trunk button still works from the glove box... i am stunned... what do i do?

Any other ideas? Maybe i have something connected wrong?

I don't get it.

get your multimeter and check to see if your getting a 12 volt from pole 87 when you use the remote, i dont see why it wouldnt work. at least you hear a click and the relay works

did you plug the keyless entry module BACK IN. it has to be plugged in to work lol.

lol yes.. i plugged it in.. i will test #87 to see if i get 12 volt.

If i don't get 12 volt, what could be the problem since i hear the click in the relay?

Thanks again hankook,

well, let me tell you, i just tested it and wire 30 get 12 v (always), the wire that goes to the trunk release wire = 12 v (when button is pressed), the keyless entry module is getting 12 volts (when i press the button) on the black&yellow wire....

So now i am thinking that maybe its the keyless entry module (i must admit that it never worked since i got the car. I had the remote but the doors and the trunk would never open. So i installed an alarm and now the doors work like a charm, but the trunk.. nothing.)

perhaps i should tap into the wire behind the trunk release button (can i find that wire somewhere under the dash?)

No need to check fuses - fuse 26 feeds both the keyless module and the trunk switch, and since the switch works you should be good.

In theory the wire you connected to at the keyless module IS the "wire under the dash that connects to the wire at the glove box trunk switch". The black/yellow keyless wire goes through C501 first but it's not likely that's the problem.

2 things to check:

1. Make sure you have the right wire at the Keyless module. There is a black/yellow and a yellow/black. The black/yellow is what you want and it's on the keyless module connector between a red/black and a pink/black.
2. Check it "in reverse". Put your meter on the black/yellow at the keyless module and it should read 0 volts. Now press the trunk release button in the glove box and IF you are on the right wire and it's not broken somewhere you should see +12v at the keyless module. If you don't see 12v then the wire must be broken somewhere and you'll have to run a wire back to the glove box and connect to the black/yellow there. You can also get to that wire behind the driver's rear access panel if it's more convenient.

Done... it finally works...thanks modifry... everything was hooked up the right way, but i think one of the connections came undone or something as i only solder once i know it works well.

In any case, now i have a new problem.

2 other problems....

1) i have an auto window up and down module installed.. .and well it works great except that it closes the window when i press unlock... i would like to make it close the windows when i press the lock button on my remote.

2) i would like to install another one of these modules to use with the convertible top. What i would like, is to be able to press a combination of button (as i do for the window up and window down feature) on the remote, and be able to open or close the top from a distance. I know that it will not fully close as i still need to latch or it unlatch it, but sometimes, when i run into the store, i would like the top to close behind me. Its more of a fancy trick than anything useful, but i would still really like to do it.

How would i go about doing this? Also, how would i go about installing this feature so that when i close the car (LOCK on the remote), the windows and the top goes up... the main problem i see is that if the switch for the top is activated, the windows will go down.... what can i do?

Please help me out guys... i know it may be useless, but i want to have that feature,
