Tweeter Install--2 inch

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think I may have purchased the wrong size speakers for a 2005 S2000. I purchased the infinity 60.9 CS which have 6 3/4 inch woofer, and 2 inch tweeter.

I think I can get the 6 3/4 woofer to work. Is there anyway to install the 2 inch tweeter in the 1 inch stock area?

If not, I suspect I need to exchange for the 60.7CS (6 1/2 woofer and 1 inch tweeter), although I will have to pay a 25% restock fee.

Appreciate any thoughts on whether I can get this to work.

According to Crutchfield it's a 1 inch tweeter.

More than likely, you'll need to use a "backstrap" (short piece of metal that is usually used to hold the back of the radio in the dash) to attach the tweeter to the stock mounts. Most stereo shops have a bunch of backstraps laying around since most people never use them on a radio install.

The tweeter should fit fine.

Thanks, I'll search for other options.

I see that crutchfield says one inch, but the infinity literature states about 2 3/8 inch. I have a set here at home and they are indeed over two inches.
