Tweeter Install
I am installing my stereo in my 2001 and i have a polk audio 6.5" component system (i.e. tweeters, crossover, subwoofer). I have no problem installing the subs and crossover but need the best possible way to mount my 1.75" tweeter speaker. Where on the doorpanel? Flush mount or external mount?
i mounted them at the door, at front, in the corner to the windshieldframe, just where the door window ends and the rubber begins. have to tape them a little bit to the underground. didn't want to make holes into the door surface ...
i just went through this whole ordeal. there is a post from me with about 20 responses.
Do not go in front of the handle... it's too soft and won't last.
Stick with the obvious. right in front of the speaker in the door panel.
I have mine there and it sounds great.

I surface mounted my Focal tweeters in the A-pillars. They look nice and the cups match the color. Visually, I think it's kinda cool having these little things stick out some. I couldn't get myself to put a hole in the door panel either...AND fish more wire through the conduit. It sounds great with the top up or down.
