Tweeter locations
Where did you guys install your tweeters if the stock locations arent being used? I have a 00 which doesnt have the tweeters in the doors and Im looking to buy a component set and i want it sound good but not look tacky at the same time. PICS TOO PLEASE!!!!!!!
get them molded into the A-pillars. Sound is a lot better and can look very natural and stealth if done correctly.
Unfortunately I don't have my digital camera right now so I don't have any pics, but there are a couple floating around here if you search hard enough.

i put my focal k2p's tweets in the doors right in front of the door handles.
that way they are close to the mids but a little higher.
the path is not blocked by my knees or the dash ever.
they are off-axis and being titanium tweets that are a bit bright i don't think i'd want them right in the a pillar or higher in the door like at the stock locations. i get plenty of highs and i have them set to -3db on the x-over.

I've tried a few positions. So far I like the position just above the woofer, beside the door lock the best for my tweets, then A-pillar, then the Kick area, assuming the woofer is in the standard lower door position.
When I ran the tweeter in the kick area (where the trunk latch is) the highs sounded muffled, poor/low stage, but has good image.
When I ran the tweeter in the A-pillar facing the center of the windshield, sounds is more clear, stage is good, but image is not very good because of reflections from the windshield and distance from the woofer.
Also experimented with tweeter on A-pillar, cross-firing, same results as facing the windshield.
The best results for A-pillar that I found so far is tweeter mounted on big enough baffle pointing away from the windshield and driver/passenger side window. The reason why a baffle is needed is so that less high freq sound wave leak around the tweeter, hit the glass and reflect back to the listening position.
Back to the best position I mentioned above, I haven't found where to point it to get the best results. Still experimenting myself.

I have an 01 and did a swap for 02+ door panels. I'm not a big fan of the stock tweet positioning and if I had to do it again I would have tried the A-piller/dash firing directly at the windshield. But I had to consider top down image/staging as well so that's why I stayed with the east panel swap route.
There are quite a few threads on this in teh search. I know because I did a lot of digging last year when I was considering my setup.
