I would love to mold one of those into the A-pillar
Any takers?
Any takers?Im getting closer to my navi setup, and will start to do research.
I brought this up in another thread and just thought I'd give fair warning...
Nuvi has no screen heater. DO NOT leave it in the car under freezing temperatures for any prolonged period of time. If the screen freezes, it's toast. I used to work for a company that makes fleet tracking and GPS navigation systems and trust me, it's a real problem. If you look up any DVD/navi unit meant to be installed in a car permenantly, they usually state the operating temperatures and that it has a device to heat the screen when the car's off.
On the other hand, it looks slick and I'm tempted to get one too

The battery is built-in Lithium, not user exchangable. It really needs to have a power cord installed onto it's mount to do it right. It has a small built-in speaker on the rear but also has audio output thru a 3.5 mm headphone jack. I don't use audio anymore for navigation so I turned the volume to off. Reception is incredible without an external antenna. I've used several portable gps's and this one is best so far. The software is very intuitive. The only negative is it's risk for getting stolen vs the hassle of stowing it (or locking the car) every time I stop.
